Pew Research Center says 70% of US adults are one social media. How are you using it to connect with your customers?
That research was performed in early 2017. Other services report as many as 81% of Americans have a social media profile. There are literally millions of potential connections out there.
Overwhelmed yet? The good news is that the entire internet is not your target audience. And you don't have to figure out how to capture your audience's attention and their trust online alone; however, you do need to partner with someone who understands where your customers are spending time online and be able effectively to connect with them.
You need to do what you do best and trust someone else to do what they do best.
Using content marketing skills and strategy that is unique to each woman I work with, I manage your social media pages for you in a way that's authentic and relatable to your business. You get people to connect with you and you get to keep doing what makes you burst with joy. Sounds pretty win-win, right?
At a young age, I knew I wanted to tell stories. My nose was always in a book and when it wasn't, I was narrating my life in my head. (True story: I was the youngest person in a journal writing class at my local community college. I was 5.)
What does this have to do with social media and content marketing?
Answer: I've been writing for most of my life.
The practice of developing voice and perspective is second nature. I've used that perspective for years as a blogger to connect with former strangers who have turned into friends and colleagues. I will develop your unique brand voice to tell your story online, turning strangers into people who care about your brand.
By telling your business's story in a compelling, earnest way, you then gain the trust of your audience.
Trust translates to sales. People don't buy from businesses, they buy from other people they know, like, and trust.
I'm able to synthesize copy in a way that takes your story from being dull and maybe even salesy and pushy to connect with your audience where they are online. From first hand experience, I know what resonates on which channel and with whom - and that's half of the battle.
The other half is figuring out what to write. You're already keeping enough in the air in your business without trying to figure out what will engage your audience and keep them interested in your business. Consumers are fickle, but when you can convert them into friends and super-fans, they're loyal for life.
And then there's the challenge of evolving with the market. What worked last year may not work this year due to constantly changing algorithms and business tactics on the media's side of things. You don't have the time to research what's happening, but that's all I think about.
(Okay, I also think about developing a cinnamon roll recipe that makes the eater lose weight. The social media thing is a bit more likely to happen as I currently am unable to bend science.)
Let's not forget the strategic part of content marketing.
You have to test and analyze what you're doing to see if it's even making a difference. If not, where do you spend your energy. If so, how do you capitalize on that momentum.
I'll be on your side creating content that touches the heart of your soon-to-be super-fans, making a strategic plan that will convert your goals, and reading the analytical reports to pivot your strategy so it works at peak performance.
As much as we want to think that Facebook is the place for impossibly-easy looking food videos, it takes thought and planning to consistently connect with your followers. And that takes time.
